Jamie D. Winkler

Jamie Winkler, a lifelong resident of Smith County, Tennessee, graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. 

Following graduation from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2000, Jamie accepted a position as Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Walter C. Kurtz in the Davidson County, Tennessee Fifth Circuit Court.  Jamie served two years as Judicial Clerk before taking an associate position in the Nashville office of Miller & Martin PLLC.   

In 2004, Jamie returned to Carthage, Tennessee, and began practicing at Bellar & Winkler, joining Jacky O. Bellar in his practice of over 50 years.  In 2021, Jamie formed Bellar & Winkler, PLLC after Mr. Bellar’s passing.  Bellar & Winkler, PLLC continues to engage in a general civil, criminal, business, and real estate practice and represents various governmental and corporate entities.  Jamie focuses his practice in various areas including insurance defense, criminal defense, estate/probate, estate planning, education law, business formation/contracts, general litigation and commercial law.  He also represents various financial institutions and local utilities.  He regularly appears in all local, state, state appellate, and federal courts in the Middle Tennessee area and is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and the 15th Judicial District Bar Association.
